Scouting with the 255th Bristol (Channel) Sea Scouts is fun for children and adults alike! Whether you have a child who would like to be enrolled in the group, or whether you would like to offer your help to support the group as an adult, please get in touch with us as set out below.
Volunteering as an Adult
We are also always in need of additional adult support, either in the form of Assistant Leaders and Group Supporters to work directly with our Scouts, or in the form of equally important administrative roles that support the rest of the group. The more adults we have to help run the group, the more children we can introduce to the exciting world of Scouting! Adult volunteers are given full training for the role that they are to fulfil.
We are currently in urgent need of adults to fill the following roles with our young people:
Assistant Beaver Scout Leaders and non uniformed Section Assistants
Assistant Cub Scout Leaders and non uniformed Section Assistants
Assistant Scout Leaders and non uniformed Section Assistants
Admin Assistants (all sections)
Water Sports Instructors
We urgently need to fill these roles to move forward with our building project:
Fund Raising Champion
Supporter Care Communicator
To discuss volunteering in any capacity for the 255th Bristol (Channel) Sea Scouts, please contact Roger Kirkland, Group Scout Leader, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The leadership team and the Scouts in our group would very much appreciate your help!
Enrolling your Child
We are always keen to welcome new Scouts to the 255th Bristol (Channel) Sea Scouts and will do all we can to accommodate your child. However, our Beaver Colony and Cub Pack do currently have long waiting lists, so get your child’s name down at an early age.
We aim to guarantee children who are enrolled as Beaver Scouts a place in our Cub Pack once they reach 8 years of age; likewise we aim to guarantee our Cubs a place in our Scout Troop once they reach 10½ years of age. However, this is dependent on our obtaining continued support from adult volunteers as set out above – let us know if this is something you think you may be able to provide.
To add your child to the waiting list for our Beaver Colony (ages 6-8), please contact Elaine Beckett (Lemur), Assistant Beaver Scout Leader, at email@example.com.
To add your child to the waiting list for our Cub Pack (ages 8-10½), please contact Matt Hill, Cub Scout Leader, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To enrol your child in our Scout Troop (ages 10½-14), please contact Luke Bibbey, Acting Scout Leader, at email@example.com.
