Climbing, October 2011

On Hallowe’en 2011, six of our Beaver Scouts skipped trick or treating to join us at Bristol Climbing Centre in St. Werburgh’s for a crash course in safe climbing. One of our Beavers took to it so well that the instructor said we might have a future champion in our midst!

We were joined for the night by Toothy, the Bristol South Beaver mascot, who has been touring Beaver Colonies in the district to celebrate 25 years of Beaver Scouting, and was made an honorary 255th for the night. Unfortunately, Toothy wasn’t allowed to go climbing himself as his legs were too short, but he enjoyed watching!

We hope our gallery captures some of the fun of the evening, despite Badger’s camera having dried raindrops on the lens!
